Linn Mathes Inc. has a substantial record dating back more than twenty-five years in achieving affirmative action goals. We strongly believe in the principles and morality behind these actions.
Linn Mathes Inc. is an equal opportunity employer and has a varied workforce of carpenters, larborers, drywallers, and tapers. Our workforce closely resembles the ethnic make-up of Chicago with more than 60% minorities and 7% women tradesmen. This diversity extends to our superintendents as well. Many of our current carpenters and tradesmen have been hired as a result of neighboorhood hiring efforts and apprenticeship sponsorships.
We consistently met or exceeded the requirements of City of Chicago, Department of Housing, Illinois Housing Development Authority and United States Housing and Urban Development for all projects we built or renovated under their auspices.
Black Contractors United recognized us as the "Majority Contractor of the Year" (1999 and 2001) for our commitment to maintaining ongoing subcontractor relationships in the African-American community, for which we are both humble and grateful for their continued confidence and friendships. It is our intended goal to strengthen and expand these bonds with not only BU but other minority enterprises.
